A beautiful white smile is a dream of all of us. Designing and performing such a perfect dentition is a big challenge for a dentist. Modern methods allow us to whiten teeth even by a few shades (whitening accelerator Beyond) and to shape them with composite materials made especially for this purpose.
Even broken tooth crowns can be rebuilt to anatomical shapes after appropriate colouring.
Porcelain veneer
A porcelain veneer is a thin layer of porcelain placed over the labial surface of the tooth. It perfectly masks tooth imperfections and, what is important, the enamel is polished only in to small extent (0.8 mm – 1 mm). Porcelain crowns
If a tooth is damaged, crowns and bridges are applied. We try to use dentitions made of full ceramic materials in the anterior part (facial part). In our centre we use PROCERA – a Swedish system based on a highly advanced technology.
The procedure of adjusting the crown based on this system is as follows:
All necessary readings are performed with the use of a laser scanner. We send the readings to a laboratory in Gotheborg by means of a modem. Based on the data sent, special frame caps are prepared by specialists who work there and then sent back to our centre. Next we give crowns and bridges their final look and apply them in our patients. Procera gives a 5-year guarantee for their products.
In other situations (lateral part of the lower or upper jaw) you can use a less expensive solution – ceramics on metal. It is our rule always to use metal alloys of one kind and from one source in order to avoid galvanic reactions. That is why our patients always get certificates with the information on the material used to produce appliances so that all the next ones will have a similar potential.
Tooth crown extension
JIt is a procedure which allows us to change the so-called proportion between the white and the red – that is the length of teeth in relation to gums. In such a case we use appropriate tooth crown extension techniques which eliminate excess of gums.
IMPLANTS
Modern implants allow us to rebuild single teeth and the whole dentition in a perfect way. Reconstructive procedures of the bone and gums facilitate cosmetic smile restoration. However, they are procedures that take a lot of time.
